Lido Key is the area of beachfront located between Sarasota bay and the Gulf of Mexico right outside of St.Armands Key. There are approximately 1,500 permanent residents on Lido Key, with an additional 750 or so on the adjoining St. Armands Key. The area consists mainly of hotels, timeshares and condominiums. There is also a beautiful park located at the southernmost tip of the key. One of the featured attractions is St. Armands Circle which contains shopping and dining. Some of the more famous establishments on the circle include the Columbia Restaurant and the Daquiri Deck.

Lido Key and St Armands are very popular with Sarasota County visitors. Law enforcement is provided by the Sarasota Police Department. The Sarasota Sheriff’s Office is also regularly seen in the area. Because the road to enter and exit Lido Key consists of a two lane traffic circle located outside several drinking establishments, traffic is heavily monitored and violations are strictly enforced.
